Self-draining Rotex solar thermal kit
Description of the Rotex self-draining solar kit:
The ROTEX self-draining solar kit is ready to be installed. It consists of a 300L tank equipped with a solar domestic hot water exchanger and an electric battery, 2 Solaris Rotex V21P sensors, the hydraulic and regulation elements necessary for the operation and optimization of the production of solar hot water.
The water stored in the balloon is always the same, it is called dead water. The annual (or even bi-annual) water make-up constitutes the main part of the maintenance of the installation. This water stores calories. When there is a withdrawal of domestic hot water, the cold water that enters the tank passes through an exchanger, it is heated and sent to the withdrawal point. The volume of domestic hot water stored is therefore very low and its quality is not degraded as it could be after too long storage.
The cumulus volume of 300L which includes a reserve of 200L of water heated by hydraulic or electric back-up when necessary is well suited to a family of 4 to 6 people. The 4.2m² collector surface makes it possible to cover 40 to 60% of the domestic hot water needs of the home depending on the consumption profile, the orientation and inclination of the collectors, the geographical area, the solar masks possible...
To increase the solar coverage rate, it is possible to add a third sensor to the installation.
Precautions for installing the self-draining Rotex solar kit:
The solar installation does not contain glycol. In winter, when it freezes, there should be no water left in the collectors.
To do this, emptying must be done correctly, maintaining a continuous slope of at least 2% for the pipe connecting the collectors to the tank and maintaining a slope of 0.5% for the collectors (see instructions).

Highlights of ROTEX technology
The Rotex kit as designed is very simple and quick to install. It does not require specific equipment for its installation. The solar installation is at atmospheric pressure and does not require glycol, there is no difficulty during commissioning to ensure the proper functioning of the system.
