The UV treatment allows to sterilize a "non-drinking" water.
DOMAINS OF USE OF UV BACTERICIDE TREATMENT:
Drinking water (well, borehole, spring)
PROCESS WATER (industries)
DISCHARGE WATER (wastewater treatment plant)
BATHING WATER (swimming pools, leisure centres)
SEA WATER (fish farms, oyster farms)
AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT (ornamental pool, aquarium)
HORTICULTURAL ENVIRONMENT (nutrient solution)
OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLE OF UV TREATMENT:
U.V. radiation has a photochemical action on bodies, an action which manifests itself by very diverse reactions such as sterilising action. The principle implemented in the present "RER antibacterial" type device, is due to the disturbance brought by ultraviolet radiation in the chemical structure of the constituents of the living cell, and consequently, of their function. Depending on the amount of UV energy received, the living cell will either be sterilised (bacteriostatic effect) or destroyed (antibacterial effect).
BACTERIOSTATIC EFFECT:
In the case of moderate absorption of UV energy, this allows the cell to continue to live, but while no longer being able to reproduce; this cell is therefore doomed to disappear.
The BACTERICIDE EFFECT:
In the case of energy absorption above a certain dose, this allows the destruction of the cell. The minimum legal dose according to the circular of 19/01/87 of the General Directorate of Health is: 25,000 micro-watt seconds per cm². For the sake of efficiency, the RER antibacterials have an energy dose higher than 40,000 micro-Ws/cm2. v

ADVANTAGES OF UVc TECHNOLOGY:
At the level of the treated product:No chemical product to be added or replaced - No physico-chemical modification of the treated water - Instantaneous, non persistent antibacterial effect - No residual radiation in the production - No radioactive residue, even after very high level of exposure.
Installation:Compact and easy to install device - Great flexibility of use in the industrial setting - Implementation not requiring special monitoring - Relatively low maintenance - No risk linked to the storage of chemical products RemarksAt the level of the exposed persons - Health risk for unprotected subjects: skin erythema, conjunctivitis
At the level of the treated product:- Possibility of minimal modifications of the organoleptic characteristics of certain liquids (flavour, taste) - Variable oxidation reactions depending on the nature of the treated foodstuff
. Extract from the Order of 21 August 2008 on rainwater harvesting and its use inside and outside buildings:
Article 2:
II.Inside a building, rainwater collected downstream of inaccessible roofs, other than asbestos cement or lead, may be used only for excreta disposal and floor washing.
.III.The use of rainwater collected downstream of inaccessible roofs is authorised, on an experimental basis, for washing clothes, provided that suitable water treatment devices are implemented and that the person who places the water treatment device on the market declares to the ministry in charge of health the types of suitable devices he intends to install.
The UV treatment systems presented on Lacentrale-eco meet this requirement!
