How does a panel heater work?

Infrared heaters use a principle similar to the world's most pleasant heat source: the sun.

The way they work is completely different from conventional radiators. Like the sun, theyuse radiation to heat the room instead of convection.

They work completely differently to conventional radiators.

Common heating systems heat the air in the room directly, which is also known as convection. When a fluid, such as water or air, becomes hot, its density decreases, which means the fluid rises. Warm air rises - cold air falls. This has the essential disadvantage of uncomfortable air circulation.

An infrared heating panel relies on radiation, which means it disseminates heat directly to furniture, walls, floors or even occupants.

Infrared heating panels are therefore more efficient than most heating systems because they produce instant heat. With smart thermostats, the panels are very easy to regulate. With a high efficiency of nearly 100%, there are no conduction losses.

Infrared heaters provide healthy room air and prevent the formation of mould.

I've got a question about my heating

What are the benefits of infrared heating?

  • Economic

The costs of infrared heating are lower than electric convection heaters, as they require less power. The better the insulation of your building, the lower the costs.

The more you insulate, the lower the costs.

Our most powerful panel is limited to 800W, which is half of an average electric convector.

Compared to conventional heating systems (gas, oil, etc.), the acquisition cost of infrared heating panels is much lower. In addition, there areno running costs, such as maintenance costs.

Low heat loss significantly reduces energy consumption.

Thanks to the infrared heating panels, the masonry is kept dry. As a result, the thermal transmittance value (U-value) increases, which means that there is less heat loss.

Depending on the insulation of your home, this type of heating system will lower your electricity bill

  • An environmentally friendly heating system

No oxygen and no carbon dioxide

  • Easy to install

Infrared heating panels run on electricity, so all you need is a regular power outlet.

Unlike common heating systems, there is no need for a boiler or additional pipework. Just screw it on and plug it in, that's all.

These are self-contained units, they can be mounted on any wall or ceiling, anywhere you like.

  • No noise pollution
  • Ideal for your health

1. Help to reduce mould and prevent its formation,
2. Reduce allergies (neither dust nor allergens circulate in the room),
3. Increase blood circulation as infrared is absorbed by the body. This results in enhanced immune function and detoxification.
Also, as infrared heating panels are electrically powered, there is no risk of fire or explosion.

.

Why is this heater effective for cold rooms?

It is important to understand the concepts of comfort and discomfort in a house.

The infrared radiation, emitted by the panel hanging from the ceiling, allows the temperature of the elements in the room to rise by a few degrees.

This homogenises the temperature of the room.

This homogenises the temperature of the space by reducing the temperature differences between the elements and the air.

By reducing the temperature differences you reduce the cold radiation from the elements, which will reduce your feeling of discomfort!

If you feel cold, it is because your body is feeling cold radiation from the floor, walls or windows.

The greater the temperature difference between the air and the walls, the more you will feel these differences. With an air temperature of 19 degrees you will feel 21° thanks to the radiation emitted by the panel.

This notion of comfort and discomfort is the basis for healthy and comfortable living. Infrared is therefore THE solution to avoid overheating the air while reducing temperature differences.

This is a measurable physical phenomenon, not a sales pitch to get you to buy this product.

Why this heater is ideal for passive level buildings?

This electric heater is excellent for low energy Passive or even RT2012 level homes, as it is very responsive and has no inertia.

It rises and falls in temperature quickly, providing the right amount of energy when we need it.

The smallest emitters being between 200W and 300W, this will be sufficient for a bedroom or an office.

Where to install this infrared panel.

It's ultra-flat design with its glass plate makes it look great!

You can put it as well in an ultra design kitchen as in a living room or a bedroom. Or simply in your office as we did at Lacentrale-eco.com.

You can choose to integrate it into your ceiling, hang it from the ceiling, or hang it with cables.

I've got a question about my heater

How do I connect an infrared heater and regulate it

?

It connects directly to the electrical panel with a conventional 220-240V power supply.

You need to add a control to run it on an on/off thermostat, as this infrared heater does not have a pilot wire, nor a remote control.

Its simplicity is also a guarantee of longevity.

Given its low power of less than 1500W for most models, many customers install it in place of electric lighting even though this is strictly forbidden by the regulations which require a direct connection to the switchboard.

We do not recommend this installation if your electrical network has never been renovated and is not up to current standards.
