The dry siphon protects the machine in autumn when condensation returns to the exchanger if the siphon has been defused in summer. In fact, if the siphon is defused, the fan will create a depression in the condensate drain and prevent it from draining. The accumulation of water in the machine may then damage the electrical equipment inside.
