The history of Lacentrale-eco
Guillaume Guerbette, from an Industrial Thermal Engineering background, undertook a family project to build a bioclimatic house (MOB) in 2005.
This project is more complicated than expected. At the time, it was difficult to find quality equipment to build a resilient, bioclimatic and healthy house.
Based on this observation, in 2008 he created Lacentrale-eco.com. Its objective is to select and centralize reliable products on a single e-commerce site to design a sustainable, healthy, economical and resilient home.
2017: renovation of a farmhouse in Lyon
This renovation project aimed to create a main residence (T4) and the future offices of Lacentrale-eco.com (T2). In 8 months of work, more than 200 m² were renovated, largely through self-construction, by installing the equipment offered on Lacentrale-eco.com.
Nobody believed it, but we did it!
Yes, Lacentrale-eco employees also participated in the installation of the main equipment to master the techniques, thus knowing the little tips that we transmit to you daily by telephone.
Equipment installed:
Hydraulic insert for pellet/log biofuels on heated floor and DHW tank, rainwater tank , dual-flow VMC , hydraulic and electric octopus, LED lighting, home automation (Legrand, Deltadore, Xiaomi), magnetic anti-limescale treatment , infrared ceiling lights .
Equipment installed:
Aluminum and PVC windows , electric roller shutters , adjustable sunshades , roof window with electric shutters , glass roofs, front door , fence, gate and motorized gate , Bioclimatic pergola blade kit .
2005: Construction of a bioclimatic house in Drôme
This MOB construction project, orchestrated by Francis GUERBETTE, DPLG Architect, was to allow him to have a comfortable retirement while ensuring the reception of the whole family during the school holidays.
It was necessary to optimize the design and selection of technical equipment to meet the heating and hot water production needs for 20 people during school holidays and 2 people the rest of the year.
Equipment installed:
Small 8kW mass log wood stove, infrared heating , solar thermal water heater for DHW and swimming pool , thermodynamic double-flow VMC with Canadian aeraulic well , 3 kWp of photovoltaic sensors, magnetic anti-limescale treatment , rainwater recovery for the house and watering
Equipment installed:
Aluminum windows and doors , autonomous and electric roller shutters , adjustable sunshades and Activ'home shutters, awnings , Knx home automation.
We have therefore been following the evolution and aging of equipment and different materials since 2007... Certain materials and equipment sourced at the time have already been replaced even before 10 years of use!
This reinforces our desire to only offer reliable products with the longest possible lifespan, because 10 years goes by quickly!
We therefore remain convinced that “the cheapest is the most expensive in the long term”. It is often better to invest 30% more in a product if this will double its lifespan.
