Introducing the Zypho Wastewater Energy Harvester
The Zypho is a tubular heat exchanger located in the shower drain. The Zypho system is specially designed to recover a large part of the calories in the shower drain water.
When hot water is drawn off during a shower, the cold water that supplies the domestic hot water tank or the shower mixer passes through a copper coil immersed in the volume of hot water from the shower. Cold water heats up while hot water cools. At the outlet of the coil, the cold water from the network has gained about ten degrees allowing energy savings. Thanks to this recovery of calories, the consumption of hot water can be very simply reduced by 20%.
The system is easy to install. It is positioned directly under the shower base in the case of the version with drain or offset in the case of the version without drain.
The product is guaranteed for 10 years and certified by the CSTB.
CSTB tests according to the EN-717 standard justify an energy saving on shower water of up to 27%.
