Solar Bubendorff section: What is piloted mode ?

Guided mode is an attractive feature of Bubendorff solar roller shutters. This function allows the user to program the blinds to open and close automatically depending on the light and the outside temperature.

If you have ever noticed that your Bubendorff solar roller shutters go down independently of your will, find out why and how in this article.

When you use this feature, your shutters will lower or raise their opening to optimize your comfort. The aim is also to save energy.

Conversely, in summer, it will adapt to sunshine to protect you from the heat.

Note that the triggering is independent between each shutter. It is therefore normal for the movement of the shutter to take place at different times depending on the location and exposure of the shutter.

Automatic descent above 20°

Your shutter lowers in the event of high temperatures to protect your home. It always leaves a small space to keep a little brightness as well as to ensure a natural air flow.

Autopilot is set up if 3 conditions are met:

  • Average temperature above 20°
  • Outside temperature (at the time of the movement) above 25°
  • The photovoltaic panel is directly exposed to the sun

Automatic descent below 12°

The shutter detects that night is falling and the temperature drops below 12°: it closes to limit heat loss.

However, it is up to you to raise the shutters the next morning.

How to activate or deactivate this controlled mode?

It is very simple. You simply have to press the Bubendorff button on your remote control for 3 seconds (it must have 3 buttons).

If the LED is red, the piloted mode is inactive.

Activation and or deactivation of piloted mode?

If you have succeeded in your manipulation, the LED will turn green.

To deactivate this function, press the Bubendorff button again for 3 seconds: The LED turns red. Pilot mode is inactive.

Can I manipulate the shutter?

Even if you use the piloted mode of your Bubendorff shutter, you still have the option of operating it with your transmitter.

Use your remote directly.

Bonus question: "My bubendorff solar roller shutter does not work at night"

Bubendorff solar roller shutters are solar powered, which means they depend on sunlight to function properly. If your shutters do not work at night, it could be due to several factors:

mode of transportation
To activate your cover, you must first remove the " transport " mode. The transport mode is a security that prevents it from getting started in the box so accidentally, which could "dry" the battery. More info in our article on installing a solar roller shutter .

Uncharged battery

The battery stores solar energy during the day to allow the shutters to operate at night. If the battery is not sufficiently charged during the day, the blinds may not work at night. Make sure the solar panel is exposed to sunlight during the day and is free of dirt or obstructions.

Sensor problem

Bubendorff roller shutters have sensors that detect light and dark. If these sensors are defective or incorrectly calibrated, they may not be able to trigger the operation of the shutters at night. You can check the product manual or contact Bubendorff Customer Service for help with sensor calibration.

Mechanical problem

If the flaps do not raise or lower properly, there may be a problem with the flap mechanism. In this case, it would be best to call a technician for diagnosis and repair.

Electric problem

Although solar roller shutters are primarily powered by solar energy, they may also require a small amount of electrical power to operate. If the shutters don't work, check for a power outage or a blown circuit breaker.

The final word

This automatic closing of your Bubendorff roller shutters can be surprising if it has been activated unintentionally. As you can see, returning to normal mode is done in seconds. So, take advantage of it, test this feature to save energy.
