What does the Length x Projection of the bioclimatic blade kit correspond to?
The length corresponds to the dimension of the blades without the frame. In the image above we have 4000mm.
The projection is the dimension obtained by the accumulation of the number of flat blades, i.e.: blade gap (200 mm) x number of blades + 15 mm x 2 (blade overhang at the front and rear).
In the image above, we therefore have the following calculation: 200 × 35 + 15 × 2 = 7,030 mm
The length of the slats takes into account the supporting rails that attach to the beams of your pergola
You must already fix the supporting rails on your structure, then put on the ends of each blade, on one side then the other.
215.8 mm aluminum pergola blade

The blade is made of aluminum with stainless steel tips. an EPDM gasket ensures sealing between the slats
Center distance between adjustable blades of 200mm
If you put 10 boards end to end, the projection will be 10 × 200 mm = 2,000 mm
To these 2,000 mm, add 15 mm of play on each side, i.e. 2,030 mm
The delivered supporting rail will therefore be 2,030 mm.
We therefore advise you to keep a space between internal beams of 2,035 mm.
The front and rear 15 mm will be filled by the sealing angles below.
The only kit of adjustable slats for pergola combining quality and ease of installation
Waterproof blades
The extruded aluminum and stainless steel blades of the structure offer the possibility of varying the angle of inclination using the dial on the supplied remote control.
The shape and joints of the slats ensure perfect watertightness of the structure.
When the slats are closed, the water drains on both sides at the end of the slats if you have not installed a slope.
The pergola slats offered act as sun shades and rain shields to protect the furniture on your terrace.
Don't let the weather spoil your plans: enjoy your outdoors even in strong sunshine, rain or wind.
It is possible to order two aluminum gutters to drain the water that flows over the slats when they are closed. The gutters are not drilled, so you will have to adjust the system to your situation.
Gutter to collect rainwater from the pergola
The gutter must be placed on each side at the end of the slats. You can otherwise tilt your system to fit only one gutter.
Gutter cutting
(91.6x65)
Material: EN AW6060 T66
Mass 1.22 kg/m
A slope of 1%, or 1 cm every meter, would normally be required for the water to flow.
However, if your pergola is 6m long, that would create a 6cm gap between one side and the other, which wouldn't look very nice.
Therefore, we advise you to offset 1 or 2 cm between the front and the rear so that this slope is not perceptible to the eye when seen from below.
Given the large quantity of water recovered, it will flow anyway even with this slight slope.
Front and rear sealing angles, parallel to the slats, supplied as an option with the gutters
Cutting the front angle
Material: EN AW5754 sheet metal
Mass 0.24 kg/m
Cutting the rear angle
Material: EN AW5754 sheet metal
Mass 0.27 kg/m
Aluminum blades designed to withstand all weather conditions
We selected this extruded blade profile because it is much more resistant than S or Z blades which can be a simple sheet with an axis.
When all the blades are closed, they lean against each other to form a compact, resistant and waterproof assembly.
If you have 1 m of snow on your pergola, it will weigh around a tonne per m² which will of course cause your supporting structure to bend or it will tear off the supporting rails attached to the sides, but in no case should this snow bend the slats.
We advise you, in the event of heavy snowfall on your apron of adjustable slats, to leave the slats open to avoid too much accumulation on top. This situation would be quite exceptional.
So rest assured, this pergola, very simple in its mechanism, is a reliable and durable covering element, to protect your terrace, your garden furniture, sofa, etc.
Personalize your pergola
Do's and don'ts
Custom-made supporting structure to fix the slats?
Whether concrete or wood, we recommend beams of 20 cm x 20 cm . The side supporting rails will be fixed to the upper level of the beam.
So when you angle the blades, half of the blade will be visible on top. The other half will pass just above the gutter, without hindering the operation of the pergola's adjustable slats.
You can make 10 cm by 20 cm high, but not less.
Pergola with adjustable slats between two vertical walls with slats perpendicular to the wall?
No, because you will need a rim to attach the motor to one side.
Unless you put a crosspiece between the two walls and put the slats parallel to the wall.
In this case, the rail carrying the blades will be fixed on the sleepers, and the motor will be placed on top.
LED lighting in the pergola slats?
No, this model does not allow it. It is a simple and robust product with no options. But, you can embed light strips under the beams.
Here is an example from a client:
Choose the orientation of the slats carefully to be bioclimatic
Blade orientation
If, for example, you have your house on the right and facing south at the front, we recommend a clockwise orientation .
In the middle of the afternoon, you can open the slats to let light pass through. The sun's rays will be blocked and you will be protected.

A motorized blade kit
Wired or radio motorization
The motor delivered is a motor with or without a radio adapter.
If you choose without, then you will have to put a classic roller shutter switch (not supplied).
Otherwise, we offer you a SOMFY IO slim adapter to transform it into a radio motor. With the supplied remote control, you can define a favorite orientation using the “My” button.
The motor must be placed on the beam to the right or left, straddling the supporting rail and the beam of the structure
You can order without motorization, but in this case you will have to make your own system to operate the upper rod which connects all the slats. For example with a cord and pulleys, you should be able to do it. And, if it doesn't work, you will recommend the engine later.

Can we hide the blades in the system?
No, although the blades are movable, it is not possible to decenter them.
How to fix the motor?
The motor is fixed astride the supporting rail and the structure. Here is the cut:
What does the length of the bioclimatic blade kit correspond to?
The length corresponds to the dimension of the blades without the frame. In the image below we have 4000 mm.
The center distance is the space between two blades relative to the axis of rotation.
For this product, the center distance is 20 cm.
Want to know more about the screening?
The projection of the blade kit corresponds to the number of blades multiplied by the center distance to which we add a clearance of 15 mm on each side.
For example :
If you put 10 boards end to end, the projection will be (10 x 200 mm) + 30 mm = 2030 mm
The delivered supporting rail will therefore be 2030 mm.
We therefore advise you to keep a space between interior beams of 2035 mm.
The front and rear 15 mm will be filled by the sealing angles.
Want to know more about angles?
The sealing angles are parts placed parallel to the slats at the front and rear of the deck.
They help prevent the passage of water in the gap between the slats at the front and rear ends, and the beam that you will have mounted to frame the frame.

Can we create a pergola with adjustable slats between two vertical walls with slats perpenticular to the wall?
No, because you will need a rim to attach the motor to one side.
Unless you put a crosspiece between the two walls and put the slats parallel to the wall.
In this case, the rail carrying the blades will be fixed on the sleepers, and the motor will be placed on top.

Elero motor with Situo 1 IO pure control from Somfy
The blades will rotate clockwise when standing outside the pergola and looking at the left side.
So if the facade of your building is towards the rear, your slats open from the back to the front.
With 45° slats, the sun's rays will be blocked by the slats.
This orientation is ideal for pergolas located in regions south of Lyon, where solar gain in winter is not necessarily necessary to warm your main room.
The blades will rotate counterclockwise when standing outside the pergola and looking at the left side.
So if the facade of your building is at the back, your slats open from front to back.
With the 45° slats, the sun's rays will be able to pass through mid-season and thus enter your home if your pergola faces south, and if your slats are parallel to the facade.
This orientation is ideal for pergolas located in regions north of Lyon, where solar gain in winter is necessary/desired to warm your main room.
