French ultrafiltration membrane maintenance kit
Replace the UF membrane to re-filter up to 20,000L of water
A manual water purifier for all situations.
It is suitable for independent living, emergency situations, survival, homelessness prevention and outdoor recreation.
Ideal for fresh water.
In this kit you have two new cartridges to change the filtration system of your purifier.
Features :
- Filtration: up to 3 L/min, or 180 L/h (may vary depending on pumping effort and water turbidity)
- Ultrafiltration (UF) membrane made in France composed of hollow fibers with extremely fine pores (0.01 microns)
- Can filter:
- Bacteria (LOG 8)
- virus (LOG 5)
- microorganisms
- parasites
- protozoa
- suspended matter (sediments, microplastics, etc.)
- Prefiltration: 50 μm
- Turbidity of the water to be treated: between 1 and 250 NTU
- Optimal performance: 1 to 50 NTU before filtration and < 0.1 NTU after filtration
- Membrane filtration capacity: up to 20,000L*
* The lifespan of the ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane depends on usage, the volume filtered, the quality of the water to be filtered, the conditions of use and maintenance.
Limiting waterborne diseases:
The ORISA® filter purifies rainwater , surface water (streams, rivers, lakes, ponds) and groundwater (water tables, wells) from their microbiological contamination.
This is the highest performance in ultrafiltration.
99.999999% filtration efficiency for bacteria:
► E coli
► Campylobacter jejuni
99.999% filtration efficiency for viruses:
► Bacteriophage (MS-2)
► Bacteriophage (phiX-174)
► Murine norovirus
99.999999% filtration efficiency for protozoa
By filtering fresh water, the ORISA® UF membrane protects against water risks linked to the consumption of unsanitary water.
When to maintain the ORISA® filter?
Like any mechanical and durable system, the ultrafiltration membrane becomes clogged as it is used, although backwashing limits this natural effect.
The water flow may become less significant and pumping more difficult. However, the filtration quality is not compromised in any way.
Reduced flow rate and difficulty pumping are indicators of membrane condition.
If pumping proves difficult despite frequent backwashing and chemical cleaning , this indicates an advanced state of clogging.
It is then advisable to replace it, to regain ideal usage performance.
If you perform a safety test that shows that the UF membrane is no longer working, you must replace the cartridge. The filtration quality is then called into question.
How to use the kit?
To replace a cartridge, it is essential to have the ORISA® tools contained in the ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane maintenance kit or the ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane maintenance duo kit .
The change must be done exclusively by hand with the appropriate tools.
Using a screwdriver may damage the product.
Membrane integrity
The ORISA® cartridge containsan ultrafiltration membrane that provides water treatment.
After replacement, the filtration performance of ORISA® is identical to the original.
A security test is completed in less than a minute.
It allows to test the filtration efficiency of the UF membrane.
This way, you can be sure that you are consuming water that is fit for consumption.
To learn how to perform the test please watch the video titled Security Test.
