Aluminum structure and adjustable pergola slats without posts
Create a tailor-made pergola to be placed on posts or between two load-bearing walls thanks to this kit containing:
- Adjustable aluminum blades
- Aluminum frame
- Projection every 20 cm
- Black seals only
In all cases, the price includes: the slats, the aluminum frame, the control transmission mechanism, the motor and its Somfy RTS or IO-homecontrol radio control.
Wall brackets are not included in the price
The kit comes with two gutters to drain water that runs over the slats when they are closed.
The end of the gutters are not drilled, so you will have to adapt the system to your situation.

How tight are the blades?
The extruded aluminum blades and the stainless steel of the structure offer the possibility of revising the angle of inclination using the remote control wheel provided.
The shape and joints of the slats ensure perfect sealing of the structure.
When the blades are closed, the water will flow from both sides at the ends of them if no slope is defined.

Adjustable pergola slats resistant to all climates
The slats offered are extruded aluminum profiles cut to length according to the dimensions of the supporting structure.
Unlike S blades which are simple folding sheets, this aluminum profile is very solid and easily withstands tens of centimeters of snow .
For heavy snowfalls, we recommend placing the blades vertically to allow the snow to pass through.
How much snow can the pergola withstand?
We chose this extruded blade profile because we believe it is much stronger than simple single axis S or Z sheet metal blades.
When all the blades are closed, they are pressed together to form a solid and compact unit.
A meter of snow on a pergola weighs around 1 ton per m², which will certainly bend the supporting structure and break the side support rails, but this snow will not bend the blades.
If heavy snow falls on the apron, we recommend that you leave the slats in the open position to avoid too much accumulation on top.
This situation is quite exceptional.
This pergola has a very simple mechanism and is a reliable and durable covering element to protect terraces, garden furniture, sofas, etc...
How to choose the inclination of the blades of your pergola?
For example, if your home faces right and south, a clockwise orientation is recommended.
During the day the slats can be opened to let in light. The sun is blocked and you are protected. Cutting the gutter to collect rainwater from the pergola:

Section of the gutter to collect rainwater from the pergola:
The gutters must be placed at the ends of the blades on each side.

Typically, a slope of 1% or 1 cm per meter is needed to allow water to run off.
However, if the pergola is 6m long, there is a gap of 6cm between one side and the other, which is not very aesthetic.
Therefore, we recommend an offset of 1-2 cm between the front and the back so that this inclination is not visible from below.
Due to the large amount of water collected, it flows even at this low slope

Options Details
The blades will rotate clockwise when standing outside the pergola and looking at the left side.
So if the facade of your building is towards the back, your blades open from back to front.
With the 45° blades, the sun's rays will be blocked by the blades.
This orientation is ideal for pergolas located in regions south of Lyon, where solar gain in winter is not necessarily necessary to heat your main room.
The blades will rotate counterclockwise when standing outside the pergola and looking at the left side.
So if the facade of your building is located at the back, your blades open from front to back.
With the 45° blades, the sun's rays will be able to pass through in mid-season and thus enter your home if your pergola faces south, and if your blades are parallel to the facade.
This orientation is ideal for pergolas located in regions north of Lyon, where solar gain in winter is necessary/desired to heat your main room.
The universal bracket can be mounted against the wall or at a distance of 40.5 mm depending on which side of the bracket is attached to the wall.
Long side fixed to the wall = Pergola glued to the wall
There is only one possible way to attach the pergola: under the mounting bracket.

Short side fixed to the wall = Pergola at 40.5 mm from the wall
There are two possible ways to attach it, but always with the longer part facing down.
