Innovative thermodynamic water heaters for habitat

The thermodynamic water heater is a domestic hot water tank equipped with a small air/water heat pump which draws calories from the air to heat your water.

An additional electric resistance is also there as a supplement when the air taken to heat the water is too cold.

What is the efficiency of a thermodynamic water heater?

The efficiency is higher than that of a conventional electric water heater or hot water tank.

The efficiency of the thermodynamic water heater is called COP and it is between 2 and 6 depending on the technologies and the installation.

This means that in theory it will allow you to reduce your electricity consumption linked to the production of hot water by 2 to 6 times.

What are the different configurations for installing thermodynamic water heaters?

The most common installations, from least to most efficient, are:

  • Thermodynamic water heater on outside air. Additional electric resistance when it is too cold.
  • Thermodynamic water heater on ambient air (garage for example). Involves a reduction in the temperature of the room in which the air is taken/discharged. Additional electric resistance when it is too cold.
  • Thermodynamic water heater on extracted air. Reuse of calories initially released outside by the single-flow CMV. Emergency electric resistance.
  • Thermodynamic CO2 water heater. New technology, more efficient and less polluting. Works all year round without electrical backup.
