How to install an electric adjustable sunshade for a 6 m bay window?

For this type of installation, you must choose the sunshade without closing sheet , because normally your BSO will be embedded in a box with a square base.

Generally, such a sliding door is made of aluminum and will be made up of 3 or 4 equal leaves .

The goal is to avoid having a central slide.

Why install several medium-sized sunshades rather than just one?

Installing an external sunshade (BSO) in front of a 6-meter bay window can present several challenges. The main problems encountered may include:

• BSO Size and Weight:
  The size of a BSO for a 6-meter bay window can be very large. Therefore, the weight of the BSO could be a problem, especially for supporting the structure. The motor power must be increased, which implies additional cost.
  
• Transportation :
  beyond 4 meters, the organization, and therefore the budget for transport increases sharply.
  
• Cost :
  Large BSOs can be quite expensive, both in terms of materials and installation.
  
• Maintenance:
  Due to its size, maintenance can be more complex. For example, if a component of the BSO fails, it can be difficult to access for repairs.
  
• Weather conditions:
  The durability of the BSO can be an issue if the area is prone to extreme weather conditions. Strong winds and heavy rainfall could damage the structure, amplified by the significant weight of a single-leaf BSO.

How to organize the BSO on such a sliding door

For a sliding door (3 rails) 6 m wide with 3 leaves, you will have 3 bays of 2 m . You can then do:

• in 2 BSOs by juxtaposing one of 4 m and one of 2 m
• in 3 BSO by juxtaposing three BSO of 2 m

For a sliding door (2 rails) 6 m wide with 4 leaves of 1.5 m, you will open in the middle.

• We then advise you to put a BSO on each side of 1.5 m and a large central one of 3 m.
  This will make three sunshades for your sliding window.

With a SOMFY radio motor , you will have a remote control for each sunshade. Please also take a 4-channel remote control to control the three or four blinds simultaneously.

The junction between the BSOs will be made using the double guide, held on a steel tube or a plate, fixed to the ground and in the box.

This tube or dish can be supplied by Lacentrale-eco. We estimate around one hundred euros per piece per tube, including paint and treatment.
