BSO : What is the loop cord and lace for ?
Discover the textile elements of the adjustable sunshade : the looped cord and the lace. These components, although often neglected, play a vital role in the efficient operation of your adjustable sunshade.
BSO lace
It allows you to raise and lower the blades and the final blade . This traction ribbon wraps around a pulley. Two loops are sewn at the ends to hold the lace.
In general, the lace or " ribbon " in a shading could designate several things, depending on the context, but it is connected to the system for operating the slats of the shading.
This is what allows the angle of the slats to be adjusted to control the amount of light entering the building. In a manual system, this could be a chain or crank that turns to adjust the blades. In an automated system this could be a belt or cable operated by a motor.
This component could be called in different ways depending on its role and the specific system used. It may be called cable, belt, chain or band, among others. The precise term would depend on the type of shading and the mechanism used to adjust the slats. However, the word " ribbon " is not commonly used to describe a component of a standard French shading.

BSO Loop/Ladder Cords
Positioned at the front and rear of the BSO, they are used to orient the blades and guide them to fit together effectively.
The different cord and lace models depending on the type of adjustable blade
Central lace in 8 mm or 6 mm x 0.34mm
The laces have an adapted stiffness thanks to the coating applied to their synthetic fibers. This strength is necessary because they support the slats of the deck and allow the BSO to be raised and lowered .
- Synthetic multi/monofilaments: polyamide, polyester, polypropylene, etc.
- Aramid and special yarns: Kelvlar®, Twaron®, Teflon®, etc.
- Total protection against heat, cold, electricity, abrasion, humidity.
Depending on your adjustable sunshade , you will have either 6 mm slats or 8 mm slats, in black or gray.
